We have become so busy in the shop that I am sorry to say I am unable to offer free knitting lessons any longer. However I encourage all who would like to learn to knit to come to Rose Clay's Thursday afternoon workshop. She is a phenominal teacher, highly accomplished knitter and has the patience of a saint! And at $10.00 for a two hour semi-private session, she offers a deal that can't be beat. If you are not able to come on Thursday afternoons, she offers semi-private lessons Wednesdays from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00, and we can often arrange alternate times.
Becky DuPree is now offering FREE BEGINNING CROCHET LESSONS on Tuesday afternoons and Wednesday evenings. Learn to chain and single crochet at your leisure. She will also be offering more advanced techniques such as half double crochet, double crochet, extended double crochet, triple crochet, making increases and decreasing, geometric shapes and more, in semi-private lessons for $10.00 per 2-hour session with purchase of yarn and hook at the shop. Come inTuesdays, any time after 12:00, and/or Wednesday evenings from 6:00 - 8:00. More advanced classes to meet your individual needs can be arranged.
All classes are located at the shop. Registration fees must be paid in advance and are non-refundable. If you need to cancel, we need 48 hours notice in order to apply your registration fee to a future class.
ATTENTION ALL KNITTERS!
Rose Marie Clay is now offering workshops for knitters on Thursdays from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and Wednesdays from 6:00-8:00 p.m. She will be available during those times to help you with any problems that you may be having with your knitting. This will be the time to come to Rose for help, tips and advice for all knitting questions that you have.
Please call the day before you expect to come so that I can be sure Rose will be in the shop. This is NOT a drop-in class. The cost for this workshop is $15.00 for a two hour session, but only $10.00 if the yarn you are using was purchased at Grandma's.
Grandma’s "Whorling Dervishes" meets every Thursday from 1-4. Come join us for a fun time spinning and chatting! Bring your own wheel or use one of ours. As with all our groups, participation is free.
Happy Hour at Grandma's meets every Friday from 1:30-5:30. You are invited to join us and work on any knitting, crocheting, weaving, spinning, tatting, or whatever fiber arts project you need to finish. It is free and all are welcome.
After Hours at Grandma's is our newest fiber arts & social. We meet on Wednesdays from 5:00 until 8:00 to work on any fiber arts projects you wish. Like Happy Hour, it is free and all are welcome.
NEW CLUB! We now have a sock club that meets the second Saturday of each month. This group is for experienced knitters only but not necessarily in sock knitting; you must know how to knit, purl, decrease and increase. Rose will teach us how to knit socks top down, toe up, while using double points, single circular needles (the magic loop), or two circular needles, or whatever way you want to learn to knit socks. We want you to bring your suggestions, ideas and questions. Cost: $10.00/first session (includes a folder in which to collect the patterns); $5.00/following sessions. Time: 10:30-12:30. Instructor: Rose Marie Clay. You will need to buy your yarn in the shop to participate in this group.
