FLEECE TO FABRIC WORKSHOP:
In this workshop you will learn about fibers and fiber preparation from a raw (un-washed) fleece, right off the sheep, up to the finished, ready to knit, crochet, felt or weave yarn.
In the first class, you will learn all about fleece preparation; how to choose a good fleece, how to skirt it, divide it and then how to properly scour it.
In the second class you will learn how to use hand cards to prepare your fiber for spinning and you will begin to spin it.
In the third class you will practice several differeent methods of plying your yarn and you will learn to set the twist.
The fourth class will be devoted to dyeing your yarn as well as some pieces of carded wool.
Finally, the last class will be devoted to planning your "perfect" project.
The workshop will be facilitated by Donna Kaplan.
COST: $110.00, which includes 8 oz. of scoured fleece and dyes. Maximum, 8 participants.
