From Fleece to Fabric Series
Come learn how to transform a raw fleece into "fabric!" You'll start with picking your fleece and learning about "skirting" a fleece (#1). Then you will "scour" your fleece. Next, you will learn about combing and carding fiber (#2). Then you'll dye your fiber (#3). Finally, you'll plan your final project to determine how you spin the fiber into yarn.
This workshop will be divided into 3 different sections, and you must participate in section #1 as well as purchase your fleece from the shop. You may choose to participate in sections #2 & #3.
The workshop will start on May 31st, and the meeting times for sections #2 & 3 will be determined by the participants.

Section #1 costs $40 + the cost of the fleece. Sections 2 &3 are $75 each.
*Combing & Carding: Learn to card and blend a variety of fibers by hand as well as with a drum carder. If you have your own cards, please bring them. If you don't have cards, we will have some available for use and purchase if you choose to buy them. You also will learn to use combs.

| Skill Details: | In order to get the full experience of this class you must be able to knit or crochet and have a basic knowledge of knitting / crochet terminology, as well as a basic knowledge of spinning and spinning techniques and terminology. |

| Requirements: | It is not required that you have a spinning wheel of your own; we have wheels that are available for rent. Please make those arrangements as the beginning of the course. We will provide the fleece, as well as the dyes and materials for dyeing, and hand cards will available for rental as well. |
