Fibonacci Crochet

Details: The Fibonacci Sequence is the series of numbers:0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, ...

The next number is found by adding up the two numbers before it: the 2 is found by adding the two numbers before it (1+1), the 3 is found by adding the two numbers before it (1+2), the 5 is (2+3),and so on!

We are using the Fibonacci Sequence to make a crocheted scarf. Obviously, we’ll be doing some math here, but not much. We’ll make a symmetrical scarf, beginning with the one and advancing to the 21, then we will reverse the sequence.

You will need yarn, at least two colors, or up to nine different colors, depending on how colorful you want your scarf to be. You might consider a gradient of colors with a contrasting color to separate sections.

Pencil and paper is a good idea, so you can work out your color sequence before you start crocheting.

Bring a crochet hook appropriate for your yarn choice, and a tapestry needle to weave in ends. I encourage you to look at the yarn Vicky carries in the shop. There is such a wide variety of color, you are sure to find something you like.
